SOUNDS AND SILENCES, AN EXHIBITION OF TOTTE MANNES

The Finnish artist has already painted metallic storms, undulations of fabric with a thickness of stone, ribbons, veils, flags, strange totems. She has made the sound image and the wind an intertwined fabric of human hair. She has painted hearts that beat obsessively, stubbornly, without pause, and trumpets that resound in the esplanade of feeling.

In this exhibition, the geometric figures, reminiscent of Léger or the Delaunays, could also be seen as labyrinths, due to their intricate, sinuous forms. The visual and the auditory share the same pictorial space occupied by these heroes full of resplendent shields and armor. And the pieces "Concerto for two pianos" or the one expressly dedicated to Shostakovich are also especially musical.
